KRAKOW - From testicle-biting police dogs to sonic cannons capable of inducing involuntary urination, Polish anti-hooligan squads have an array of weapons ready for potential trouble-makers at Euro 2012.
The English-language Krakow Post newspaper asserted in an editorial that local law enforcement agencies were more than ready to tackle any hooligan threat at England's southern Poland base camp.
"The Polish police are going to come down on troublemakers like a bag full of anvils and you don't want to be there when it happens," the paper warned.
"Krakow has a long history of hooligan violence - the local police have seen it all before and they will ruin your day if you try it on.
"These lads' mums and dads rioted under Soviet machine guns - a few chairs thrown by beered-up fans is not going to intimidate them.
"Do not expect softly, softly police tactics.
"Poland's anti-hooligan squads are armed with: Shotguns firing baton rounds that probably won't kill you as long as you're 30m away, a truck-mounted water cannon affectionately known as 'the typhoon', a high-tech sonic cannon that can make you wet yourself on its lowest setting, dogs trained to bite you directly in the testicles."
English fans are not expected to arrive in Krakow in significant numbers, with England's Group D games all taking place in Ukraine.

other than students in quebec, I highly doubt anyone with even a little knowledge on the matter support their "cause".

 

You wouldn't have believed how many Montreal cops , Metro Police , and private security there was on the Metro and when I got to St Helene Island there was a phalanx of riot police turfing anyone that didn't have a ticket for the race

 

Now that they couldn't manage to fuck up the F1 race , they are vowing to fuck up the Jazz Festival and the Just For Laughs festival

 

They have sunk to a new low, trying to get attention anyway they can.
They are losing support for their "cause".

 

They seem to have lost sight of whatever their " cause " was and are now just roving hooligans

Montreal student protest calls for free tuition



One of Quebec's three biggest student groups is championing the idea of free university education, now that tuition hikes are officially off the table.

Several hundred people supporting that cause took part in a rally and march on Saturday in Montreal — a regular occurrence on the 22nd of each month since the start of the Quebec student crisis in the winter.

The march started in Park Lafontaine and headed down Berri Street, then west through downtown. It was over by 4:30 p.m. ET.

The more vocal student group CLASSE says free education is entirely achievable, a position that isn't promoted by the province's two other groups, the federation of college students, or FECQ, and federation of university students, FEUQ.

Now that the province's new Parti Québécois government has scrapped the increase in post-secondary tuition fees that prompted widespread protests and a student strike against the previous Liberal government, CLASSE is proposing free education altogether as a long-term goal.

Quebec currently has the lowest tuition the country for students who come from the province. Students from elsewhere in Canada pay more than double the amount though.

The new PQ government has said it favours indexing tuition to inflation.

At least 20 countries in Europe charge no or only nominal fees for post-secondary education, including countries like France, the Netherlands and Sweden, where university tuition is free.

Montreal police reported two arrests, saying projectiles were launched in Saturday's demonstration. An officer suffered a knee injury, police said. Police also used pepper spray on some people in the protest.
