Probably gonna get flamed for putting this in 2nd gen, but everybody and their mom seems to be here so why not
2 months ago, I purchased a set of brand new 33" BFG AT's from America's Tire, under lifetime warranty. I've exclusively bought new tires from these guys ever since I got my first car. Last month, the two BFG's on the front wore down to homemade drag slicks, so I needed a new set for the front. I got a great deal from another local member here for 4 BFG's but they were 31's (265/75/16). After mounting them and driving/wheeling with them for a month, I like them better than the 33's. I can do the same wheeling with no problem, but get close to 300 miles to a tank now.
On Saturday, while out wheeling, something sliced my front driver's side tire and I had to put the donut spare on. After looking everywhere for a used tire, I decided to see if the hole could be patched. Yesterday, I took it back to America's Tire, and they said they couldn't fix it, but it's covered under warranty. I quickly shot down that idea, explaining that these were not the same tires I bought from them, therefore they were not under warranty. I could have easily lied and said yeah I bought the warranty and he would have replaced it for free, but I didn't. The salesman admired my honesty so much, today he offered me a brand new BFG AT in the same size for 50% off the retail price. I took the deal, and I'm heading down there in 10 minutes to mount it.
I just wanted to say that even in a world like this, being honest can truly pay off.
/stupid thread to make myself feel better.
