Hey fellow Canadians! Im looking into putting a lift kit in my truck now that ive had it for a year. I intend to do some good wheeling and go on a few 4x4 trips. So, I'd like to get a 3 inch lift with new shocks all around with new springs in the front and AALs in the rear. Im just wondering where everyone has purchased their lift kit, if there are any local shops (Kelowna, BC) or decent websites to buy from. There are so many i dont even know where to look and i thought maybe someone would like to share their experience/suggestions. It seems the most popular lift choice is blisteen 5100s and ome 885/6s? If purchased across the line, how much did you get charged at the border? After the shelf price, american taxes, shipping then canadian taxes and such it gets a bit crazy.

    Everything helps, thanks in advance

I don't have a lift, but I bookmarked someones suggestion where to buy Bilstein's. Essex Distributors.

    http://www.bilsteincanada.com/

Other truck shop in Canada that come to mind are, National4WD and CapIT.

Hope this helps. A start anyway.

i chose to go with just adding 5100's first as my shocks were going to hell and i am completely happy with the change. i ended up ordering them from essex which is essentially bilstein canada. here are a few other places you might be interested in looking:
    http://www.arbcanada.com/
    http://www.nsor.com/
its not as easy to get things as it is for our 'merican friends but you can get the same things in the end.

Although i would NEVER suggest cap it for install, Its not a bad place to buy stuff: Old Man Emu. 886 coils, nitro charger sport shocks, Dakars and add-a-leaf. (8 leafs total) ~$1500 all in

PM OZ-T, he was recommending a place to get an OME lift in Canada. I can't remember the name of the company though.

As Oz mentioned (thanks for the props!) I am a dealer for Ironman 4x4, and carry a 2" lift for the Tacoma. It comes in at $1000 +/-

No going across the border, and at the same price as if you did. I can ship within Canada, or you can come down and have me install for you. I'm located in Chilliwack. My shop rate is quite competitive.

Thanks for posting, i checked out your website and those prices are attractive! though im a little worried about it only being a 2inch lift. im planning on getting 285/75r17 tires probably next year with whatever lift i get. Im curious if the 2inch lift with these tires will get full articulation with no rubbing. my truck did get chopped inner fenders and removed mud flaps before i got it.

With the chopped inner fenders and mudflaps the 285s should go. A local has the kit on his truck with 285s and they clear in the front and the rear.

Right now ive got a leveling kit in my truck, not entirely sure what size because it was put in before i got it. Is it a bad idea to keep that leveling kit with a lift kit to gain that extra bit of height?

The biggest problem is that it puts your a-arms near the end of their range of movement, and you need some down travel left to have decent ride quality.

Hmm well I dont really know how much you will save with the 3 inch, but when it came to my RCD kit the shop here wanted $2700 for it!! So i just ended up ordering from the states for $1850 and staying down there for 2 nights to bring it back and i STILL saved over $600 including a weekend get away lol
