You sure they loosened on their own? I could see some punk laying in your driveway late at night trying to help himself to your skids and got spooked by something.

    Yes. We have. I win!

For those in Northern Colorado... all this recent talk about oil filters had me curious so I called Pedersen Toyota in Fort Collins and their over-the-counter price on OEM oil filters is $4.09 anytime.. no coupons required. Just FYI.

Could be. They are big stainless Allen bolts. We live in a pretty quiet, nice neighborhood. Not too sure about the new renters across the street though. They just pulled up with the moving truck and the wife came over, didn't introduce herself just asked if we wanted to sell our motorcycles cuz her husband fixes and sells cars. I'm like "why are you scoping out my garage before you even park. Don't feel safe leaving it open anymore. I hate that.

Throw some lock washers on there and maybe even some loc-tite since gravity isn't your friend in this case. This way if it happens again you will know if someone tampered with them. Look around on the ground and make sure nothing looks unusual.

Yeah, that does sound sketchy. Reminds me of a funny story though: I was working in my garage this summer and I generally like to keep the garage doors closed because I don't want people seeing in my garage. I had the double door closed and I forget the reason but I had my my single overhead door open. I was working back in the back part in the shop area and, much like you, for some reason came to the front of the truck and there was an SUV idling past with a camera phone trained in my garage. I immediately stepped outside to make it clear I was looking directly them and was aware of their actions. About a half block down it slows down so I run into the garage, hop in the truck and I'm after them. I get around the corner (practically sideways with the s/c screaming) and I see it pulled off the side of the road so I come up behind the SUV and stop partially behind it and partly in the road, texted the plate number to my wife real quick and approach the driver's side window from a wide angle that is now being rolled down. I see it's a woman driving and she's noticeably shaken and nervous. I ask who she is and what the hell she thinks she's doing filming people's open garages. She tells me she's with McWhinney and doing research for them. Likely story. I'm not interested in a BS snack today. I press further and she presents business cardd, blueprints and all sorts of credentials some common street thug wouldn't have. Turns out that the city of Loveland is trying to extort money from McWhinney by saying their residential development from a few years ago doesn't conform to easement guidelines as it relates to the garage standoff in relation to the fascia of the house itself. They're claiming that they don't allow garage to stand out further and it just so happens ours does and she was getting examples to show them to help their case. Now I'm on yellow instead of red and I realize that this poor lady is probably sitting in a puddle of piss when I jumped out of the truck and came at her like a spider monkey. I just watch our community like a hawk and shit that just don't look right gets my full attention. I even made up an imaginary neighborhood watch years ago called F.A.R.T. (Fast Action Response Team) of which I'm the Tactical Commander and little Koby is a T.U.R.D. (Tactical Urban Recon Dog). lulz.

The point of the story is... hell, I don't know. It's a story though! :D

Nice! I've still got a shelf of Frams from my Supra, Tundra, Camry and a few other Toyota vehicles I've owned over the years. I buy them by the fistful and recently found a ton after cleaning out the garage. Maybe I can donate them to Goodwill or something because $4.09 for OEM is cheap. :D

Yeah, I heard about people getting $4 filters but when pressed it was tough to find them $4 shipped or you had to buy large quantities. I get sick of having tons of oil filters and jugs of oil flying all over the garage so I'd rather pay a little more to just stop by my local parts dept and get one when I need it. I saw your post about getting a sale for $4 each but it's down in Denver. I called the local shop to see if they'd honor the sale and he said yeah and went into this long schpeel about how they needed to see the coupon and then would throw it away and yadda yadda yadda. Cool I thought to myself. Then, just before hanging up, I asked what the normal price was and he said $4.09. Excuse me? Did you say $4.09 or did I misunderstand? Yeah, that's our everyday price. Really?!? Why didn't you just say so? I'm not even going to waste the paper/ink to save less than a dime if I can just walk in anytime and buy one for $4.09. I told him he should have just leaded with that info and our conversation would be done because I was basing the entire line of questioning on the assumption that they would be $6ish since they are priced high on most all parts I've priced. So I thought I would post that here for other northerners to take advantage of.

That's funny! I really hate that this summer I won't be able to just open the garage in the morning and do whatever throughout the day while leaving it open. Shit I will be moving to the cabin for the majority of the time and won't even be there to keep an eye. Might have to see if I have a friend that wants cheap rent on a nice place just to have someone there.
