Anyone want to help find some decent leaf springs for a better price?

but for a $160 more you have springs made custom for the truck and they are a CO company

When I need new packs I will go with alcan for those reasons. But I have Dakars now and I like them. I might need the aal before too long but good for now. I have shackle flips that I will be prepping to install, anyone know if I need more spring to take advantage of the flips? Should I get new shackles too? I think I need to sit down with Eric cuz I'm pretty sure he has the same ones I got...

I learned last night that the cons outweigh the pros of a shackle flip and they're not worth it

not a mod to take lightly or to jump into...

for many reasons i do not recommend a flip kit. there are many things that need to be considered and figured out before you should do something like this.

    but..

    :D

:D yeah you did it right. I just dont want to deal with one haha I would rather just get some stock replacement shackles from defined and get their cross brace with it and make the rear end stronger

I have considered getting a fab shop to custom make a cross member, that included the shackle mounts. Once I get everything else sorted (not truck stuff,) I will start making phone calls, etc.

Hmmm, interesting. Well maybe I will end up selling them. I will pick someone's brain over a meal one day before I go one way or the other. I like the increased droop but I haven't done enough research to know what the big drawbacks are.

Yep. I was thinking a bit beefier cross member and shackle mounts. Custom.

I purchased the same ones too, off a guy in AZ. Fabjunkie built.
Lets have a good discussion about the Pro's and Con's here.

Yes, anyone who knows and cares to put their knowledge down here, please do.

On a side note, I posted my Moab pics. For anyone who was waiting for them (cough Kelly cough). I have some decent pics of Lucas, Joey, few others along with lots of my truck. I know you all were eagerly awaiting pics of my rig.

    pro:

    increased droop (1"+ at least)
get rid of the huge tumor hanging down that likes to catch on many rocks
ride height adjustability - change shackle lengths

    cons:

    big commitment
    hard to tune in properly
not all kits are created equal
not all kits work right out of the box
    rivets suck
    need new shocks
spring bushings will see more wear as most kits will not be aligned perfectly with the springs
springs will go into negative arch more increasing wear

    just to name a few

 when you put it like that, it doesn't sound worth it.
