I've seen a few. There is a dark blue one with a nice front and rear bumper. I pass it almost every day on I25 on my way to school.

Not a easy task at all. Lots of pressure with the entire opposing team coming down on you and trying to level you face into the ground.

Is he an older guy? I only ask cause he never drives the speed limit on the highway, always under.

So I'm wondering what every one thinks about leafsprings and I guess over flexing them, you know when they go all the way flat and keep going, if you don't have bump stops. I have heard that alot of rock crawler guys like there springs to be able to do this and don't put in stops, but I would think it would hurt the springs after a while. What do you guys think?

Yeah he is prolly 50+. He has no sway bars and says he is too lazy to air up his tires so that might have something to do with it.

You are referring to Negative Arch I assume? Like most mods we do to off road our trucks they shorten the life span of the parts. Running NO bump stops on a daily driver is NOT something I would suggest. The Rock Crawling community that has dedicated rigs just for off road know that this becomes a part that will wear and possibly break on the trail. However they typically have a tow pig and trailer to get their rig down to and repair at home. For a DD truck you run the risk of snapping a leaf on the highway and loosing control. Also with no bump stops your shock becomes the limiter and the bump stop on the compression side. You will most likely blow out a shock in the process.

I currently have the factory bumps welded on my U bolt flip kit. They are too short and allow some N A on my EXPO packs. But they are just long enough to keep my shock from bottoming out. I have been this way for almost 2 years and have been OK so far (knock on wood). I do know that I am shorting the overall life of my leaf pack but plan to move to a new set of springs in the next year anyways. I do have plans to address the bump stops over the winter with some from Wheeler's.

Factory pack? Mine were almost flat with an AAL in them. The overload leaf keeps them from going negative too far. Time to research a set of aftermarket replacements and start saving your pennies. :D

Yeah, I traded mine out in July for the all pro expedition ones, it gave me 4 inch lift in the back. Made me find out the so called 3 inch lift I had all around wasn't 3 inches after all. So till I get some money to fix the lvl issue in the front I have the east coast lean going on.

I think they are OME. I bought the truck lifted already. Only had it two months. Need coilovers and leafs before summer gets here. I had Deaver 8 pack on my old 2003 DC Taco and liked them alot with longer shackles.

My EXPOS are nearly level with the weight I have in back(about 350lbs of extra weight everyday). Most of their lift simply comes from the 11 leaves in the pack. I am at 4"s of lift in the rear with the EXPOS and a shackle flip with an extended length shackle. with factory bumps on and longer Blistein Shocks I see some N A.

But I do like the droop:

Unfortunately with the front end configuration you will never achieve level front to back (assuming you are trying to get 4"s of lift). Most front lift's max out at 3.5's due to geometry. If you go long travel in the front then I believe you can get close to 4's up front.

Of course you can go with a DB lift for 6"s but that is up to you.

OME's should be from Dakar. A lot of guys on here run the Dakar's. They are a good spring with lots of flex. Their weight capacity is less then the EXPO but you can't beat their flex.

Bob correct me if I am wrong but if his Dakar's are running flat they are pretty much done right?

The front shocks, coil spring, and rear shocks are OME. So the leafs are more then likely Dakars like you say. I THINK I remember seeing some type of aftermarket sticker on top of the leaf pack, but it was kinda wore off and dirty. I will look when I get home. They ride ok and flex good. But are def sagging.

Meh. It just depends on how you plan to run your truck. DB's are good for light wheeling and some off road adventuring but they do have more parts hanging low to get caught up on. It's a lot easier to fix 35's tires on a DB through and from what I have seen so far the extra ground clearance on a DB lift with 35's seems to rule in mud.
