I think there was a rock there. I just swung wide right around the turn and had no issues. That was another area that was a big deal last time and nothing this time. Not sure how much of that is trail changing and how much is driver changing.

Nope. Z-trun was the easiest it's ever been.

And while I'm here, Eric's assessment of the hard line on the whale's tale seems pretty good. I had my back tires up against the rock, and not too much pressure on my rear bumper. I tried letting out the clutch, and I shifted just slightly to the right, putting the driver rear tire close to being in the notch, rather than on the ridge. After that, I decided I better not try it. Next time maybe. Funny thing is James, I then went up the middle line, and smashed my hitch right into a rock.

Yeah, that trail changes everytime it seems. For sure need a run up there in the spring, pre-Moab again, for shakedowns.

It's amazing how much some of those obstacles change. But anyways, I'm game for a spring run. Like Eric said, it's a trail that leaves you wanting more. I've run in 3 times now in just over a years time, and ever trip I feel I had a different experience.

And, Charlie sucks at posting pics, but he texted me this one. Gives you a better idea of where I ended up on the Whale's tale:

I left my share of tire rubber on that ledge too. :anonymous:
You guys in the rear prolly didn't see my 6-7 attempts and different lines. Finally used a stomping method on the throttle pedal to jump over the ledge, waiting with gritted teeth and clenched cheeks for the dreaded Pop! whackity whackity whackity...
Captain Planet cheering me on the whole way. :D

you and everyone else is always welcome on any run I "organize" except timmyjimmy... that guy is a doucher :D

25psi is still a lot. I only went down to 26 because I hadn't run Iron Clads aired down before and wanted to see what the locker did alone... usually I go 16-18... takes forever to air back up though with my little Kobalt air compressor

Forgot my camera so I just got a few with the cell phone. Nothing that great. It was a good day with some fun challenges and a silly stock Heep with us. :)
