Hey guys, so I'm considering getting a new front bumper. I don't want to add an overall lift to the truck, so I'm wondering is it possible to run the bumper (125lbs) with either only the stock front suspension or changing just the front suspension to something more heavy duty to be able to support the weight. Like OME or Bilstiens for instance... any advice would help greatly!!!

You can compensate for the added weight up, yes. This isn't technically a lift, since you're restoring your ride height to what it was prior to the heavier front bumper.

ok cool, what would be the best option for that then? I was looking around but don't wanna spend too much where in as I may as well just do the lift.

I've had good communication with ToyTec about spring/shock combos. I'd definitely shoot them an email or give them a phone call and pick their brain. They'll get you on the right track.

I wouldn't use 5100s, though, at least not with preloading.

Yes, you have to compensate for everything you add to the vehicle. I know a lot of people say one piece doesn't need compensation. But I disagree. Especially if you add bigger tires/wheels or a winch. And don't forget to add these components to the weight that you can carry/tow. Or should I say don't forget to subtract the amount of stuff you can carry.

If you don't adjust the brakes, then remember to add more stopping distance and or drive slower.

Not trying to scare you, just make a point.

haha as much as that does scare me and it does, i'd rather be safe than sorry. Just trying to get my bearing before jumping into something and getting in way over my head. Which is my main reason for getting the advice from the pros a.k.a. yous guys. Thanks again.
