    Awesome deal.

Advance Auto is also on Bank of Americas "add it up" list. If you have Bank of America you can use their "add it up" program on your debit/credit card for another 5% cash back.

    Fellas,

There is also a TRT41 code which is $40 off of a $100 purchase.

    Here are a few more:

    TRT37 - unknown expiration
    $30 off a purchase of $75+
    TRT41 - unknown expiration
    $40 off a purchase of $100+
    A124 - unknown expiration
$10 off a purchase of $30 or more / $25 off a purchase of $70 or more (online only)
    HUGE50 - unknown expiration
$50 off a purchase of $175+ (includes free shipping)
    ES123 - unknown expiration
    $20 off a purchase of $50+
    PC4U123 - unknown expiration
    $10 off a purchase of $30+

Generally, Advance has sky high markups on their items so that even with the codes, you are just down to the same ballpark as Amazon. But for certain items, like Gearwrench tools, you can use the codes to get a great deal.

Isn't that the same as every retailer? Of course ebay and Amazon are the cheapest. You have to compete to sell there

Thank you Adam Smith, I am now enlightened in the principles of basic macro economics.

My point is this: Lets take a common item, a tie rod end here, Moog part #: ES3546

Advance Auto has it for $61.99
    http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_tie-rod-end-moog_20515880-p?searchTerm=tie+rod+end

Rock Auto has it for $30.79, and $8.87 shipping

So even using the 30% off coupon at Advance, Im still going to pay $45-50 once tax is factored in. At Rockauto, I get the part to my door for for less than $40. Now for one piece, its not a big issue, but for a pair, thats a $25-30 difference. Mind you, this is just a small example on one common part, but the Advance mark-up is 100% over Rockauto.

Dont get me wrong, I like Advance, and there numerous ways to use the coupon code to your advantage, but its not always a good deal to use the coupon code from Advance vice buying outright from Amazon or Rockauto.

Now mind you, I did just buy this a couple of weeks ago:

for $29.67 after the 30% coupon. This is much cheaper than i could get it elsewhere and a fabulous deal.

Yes but Rockauto is like a thrift store for auto parts. Trust me, I buy more from Rock than Advance and I work at advance LOL.

Customers get better online discounts at any time than we do as an in store discount. They might as well take our discount away and have us order online :D

You have to check the bottom line. I just bought spark plugs and the bottom line was Advance was cheaper then Rock - granted I didn't have it shipped but Advance is just down the street from work.

Just used this and it worked. Had to buy a new battery. -15 degrees killed the stock one this morning.

Coworker needed new rear brakes for his car. 2 Wearever rotors and a set of brake pads was $64 out the door (picked up at the store) after the TRT41 code.
