I've been watching for tire deals hoping to find a discount on either a set of Duratracs or Authorities. I'm not sure how pricing has varied on the Authorities, but it looks like Walmart is having a weekend tire sale with $10-$15 off per tire on most of the tires they sell. Long story short, I was able to get a set of Goodyear Wrangler Authorities (265/75/16c) at $151 per tire before tax. If anybody has seen better prices on the Authority of late, would appreciate the heads up.

(Also note, you have to click on the tire for the discount to show up... for some reason if you do an inventory search on Walmart's site, the pre-discount prices show up initially)

Thanks for this post. I live in LA too but will be going up to the mountains a lot. The stock tires i have are Bridgestone Duelers, and i want a more aggressive tread. Need to get through muddy, dirt roads to cabin and snow on highways to ski resorts. So i was considering the wrangler authority vs BFG AT's. Still deciding but that Goodyear at Wallyworld is a great price!

I have the Authorities. I've put 10,000 miles in them now. I love them. They're great in the snow too.

If anyone is on the fence, buy them.
