Scale of 1-10, how difficult is the lower grille installation? is it a greater than couple hour job?

It is pretty easy. i would rank it a 2.
    (2) bolts, (2) push-pins and some patience.
Hardest part is unsetting the lower clips. This can be difficult if you're doing it the first time and dont know the where they all are.
The key is to work from 1 side to the other. The grill should come off by the time you make it to the center.
Took me 15-20 mins fiddling the 1st time, but since the clip pockets are worn in now (I've removed the grill 10+times) I can do it in 5 mins from popping the hood

Looking for thoughts on the type of coating for the mesh. I'm leaning towards a flat black instead of gloss... I don't really want it to stick out. Will it seem too "cheap" doing it that way? Like it was rattle-canned?

Thanks for the explanation of the differences (in PM). I ended up purchasing a flat black mesh insert in the end. I really don't want it to stand out too much and in fact want it to be more or less like there is nothing behind the grill.

When you guys intall these do you end up painting your radiator so it doesn't look too out of place behind the black mesh?

Anyone with light bars behind the grille have less output over stock? Right now i have a 20inch bar behind a stock grille and light still comes out ok, just the ones behind the toyota emblem get blocked in the center. I'm worried that the mesh here is pretty dense and will block a lot of light.

StealthTaco [OP] for 04 tacomas since theres a little lever that you use to open the hood and is in accessible from the front grill.....once we update to this new grill how would we open the hood?

    Thanks!!
