I use Zymol, have for a few years, on my Taco and the wife's Accord. Pics of both are in my photo section just after a fresh wax job. It does a good job and isn't too hard to work with. I used to use 3M Marine wax/polish for boats, it lasted a good long time, but it's hard to find now, not sure if they even still make it. I was getting it when my dad used to paint boats at a marina.
Here's Consumer Reports most recent survey results: 1.Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax 2.Turtle Wax Carnauba Car Wax 3.Eagle One Nanowax 4.3M Perfect-it Show Car Liquid Wax 5.DuPont Teflon Ultra Wax 6.Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Zymol is ranked 8th with low marks for poor compatibility with plastics and for light scratching and hazing. So I'm thinking about going with something different later this year when I wax the next time.

My wife got me a bunch of the Turtle Wax Ice products for Father's Day. For their ease of use, I was pleased with the results. Havn't gotten a chance to try the liquid claybar, but I'm looking forward to testing it out.

you should have pretty good results. its not as good as a regular clay bar, but it will do pretty good.

Considering I've never used any claybar before, it should definately be an improvement.

Nothing but Liquid Glass for me.
I have used it on and off for 23 years, I have tried others but I always come back to Liquid Glass. |

O.K., I use that Turtle Wax spray Wet and Dry. It does a great job after every wash. Leave your Tacoma wet, spray a little on and wipe dry. Then every three months I use the sealent that Toyota gave me in my console.

Collinite #845 Insulator Wax . . . long lasting and easy to apply. Don't forget to keep the truck in the shade when you're waxing.

POLISHER/Cleaner
Don't use carnauba wax unless you want to wax ever month. ALthought the best it doesn't last as long. This is for car show guys. Cars that never leave the show room.
USE a polisher/cleaner combo. Synthetic is the best. Invest in GOOD polisher like Porter Cable 7424 Car Buffer / Polisher. These really make a big difference. It can remove stuff that the cheaper ones can't. this one is strong enough to take it off, but not the paint. |

man I am bummed to here that about Zymol, now I need to look again at something new.
I like the ease of removal, now I am going to have to look at the truck to see if I notice anything.

Meguairs NXT Tech Wax/liquid. Goes on easy and off just about as easy, no white powder either. You do the entire vehicle and let it dry a bit then wipe it off. Amazing shine. I also use the Quick Detailer spray in between waxes.

Buffer
Quote:
I still think you need a GOOD power buffer(portor-cable 7424) Great powerful bufffer... This will get the crime and crud off that just wiping and smaller buffers will not... But in between a good buffer and wax/polisher, the Mequirs NXT is Awesome Like 45longcolt says!!!! But if you guys are lucky enough to park inside all the time you will not need a good buffer that often just the a good Wax job.... jhny |
