Be easier to leave them on, tape of around the emblem and spray and then just peel the excess off the paint with a toothpick or something. That way you don't have to turn a 15 minute job into hours

Youtube plasti-dip emblems. I followed it to a Tee and it came out GREAT. Here is the video I watched to guide me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FchIWF8Vi2Y

Watched it like a million times so I wouldn't :censored: it up. Note that in the video he is spraying the actual paint. He left a considerable gap when masking it (The border of the tape is far from the emblem)

I'm buying some Plasti tomorrow to do my badges. But I think I'm going to do my grill and hood scoop in the process.

Also, has anyone done the fender flares on a 2nd gen? I did a search in the thread and found one picture, but it was of just one flare and now a view of the whole truck. I'm curious to see what it would look like having the flares done also.

Just think the black flares would look good on my truck.... See my sig and let me know if you agree?

I would recommend taking the emblems off and spray them. I used tape around mine and I'm still trying to get the adhesive glue off my truck as well as there is a good bit of over spray that will more than likely get on your paint. Also it's very tidious to try and put tap in between the letters.

You don't have to put tape between the letters, and as long as you tape enough area off around the letters you shouldn't have overspray. Anything that gets on the paint is very easy to just peel off.....have you read on of this thread? lol

I did mine yesterday and I waxed the truck before I did it. I left about an inch around the emblems and had no problem at all.

Now that I can see the letters more clearly, my tailgate has more writing on it than that little paper that comes with a bottle of aspirin. Time to remove it all.
