Tape off the edge of the hood, then as you put down layers of plasti dip make sure to put 1 or 2 light coats on the edge (where the tape is) until the end. That way once when the center part of the hood is fully coated you can go back and put 2-3 layers all at once around the edge. Before the edge dries make sure to pull up the tape. You get perfect strait lines and even coats every time. Practice first if you need, but it's actually very easy.

I finally bought my first can of Plasti-dip while I was at Lowes yesterday. I'm debating what I should try first. Should I derp the front grill surround and leave the Toyota emblem chrome or derp that too? I'm not sure how much I will have left after I do that, just wanted to try it out and then go from there it comes out pretty good.

Patience. Remove them, bake them, pry apart, paint, assemble, and then seal. The most important part is the sealing. Use a bathroom/kitchen or aquarium sealant (one that dries clear). Just make sure you take your time with the sealing, that's where most mess up. As far as a cure time, let them sit for a few hours before re-installing them and try not to get them too wet for a 24 hour period so the sealant has plenty of time to cure all the way. If sealed properly they won't leak for years. All in all, it can be done in a day.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
i have one of the little bitty craftsman screwdrivers, that i busted half of the tip off. Thats what i use :) it has a little hook to it like a seal puller i guess is the closest i can think.

Have you thought about the gunmetal instead of black? It might go better with your blue.

Derp or no derp? Had it dipped, then took it off and planned on redoing it but haven't yet. Should I leave the stock grill emblem chrome or re-derp?

Does humidity mess with applying plasti-dip? I tried to do my emblems today and they came out looking rough, almost like orange peel, sort of like a bed liner texture. And when I tried to peel the overspray off, the edges of the letters wanted to peel with it. I peeled it all off, I might try again when it is cooler and drier outside. It was 90 degrees with probably 80% to 90% humidity.

So, I decided to leave the derp that was between the Ps, Es and Rs on the "PreRunner" emblem. It was a B**** trying to take them off. Oh well, here's mines:

That's a good one. I would think so. Yes, try wait until your weather is better, if not find a garage with a garage door.
