I have a silver truck and i just got some paint to fix some scratches on a bumper i just bought. Got it at pep boys for 7 bucks dupli-color was the brand. If you know your paint code then maybe check it out. Ive also heard that napa auto parts can make you some color matched paint.

If you've got an eye for paint, you won't get it to match. I bought duplicolor for $7/can and from an online store like spraycansunlimited for $25/can and neither matched well enough. If you can live with a slight variation, then they'll do the trick. They get close but the superwhite is tough to match and you will be able to tell the difference.

I used the duplicolor silver streak mica for my back bumper, mirrors, and door handles. It matched perfect. IMO it matches even better than the Factory paint on the fender flares do.

are you saying its goingg to look different because it will be on the grille? I noticed when ppl do the satoshi and paint match it it is like a brighter white. is that because the paint is on that chrome shield stuff? if i take it to a body shop will they be able to get it perfect?

Paint matching is difficult. Colors can vary from day to day depending on when the truck was painted at the factory. Although the paint code is the same, it can be different shades. It also depends on clear coat UV exposure, etc.

The best method is to actually feather the new paint color into the surrounding panels to blend it.

Or just paint it and deal with the slight difference.

I think it matched up well...like others have said the white will be the toughest to match but overall I think automotive touchup was really good quality I used their paint to color match a grill for my satoshi project came out fine

I bought some yesterday from spray cans unlimited. I was going to buy from Automotivetouchup but they would not price beat spraycansunlimited. I hope it matches well. Another question for any1. I know I bought the paint already bit do y'all think I should paint it white or flat black? I have pics in my gallery if some1 wants to look and tell me what y'all think.

I would do a test first, including clear coat and hold it up to the truck before you start prepping the grille. I eventually ended up ordering a new 2011 color match grille from the deal linwood set up (175+10 shipping) and sold off the chrome grille to someone going back to stock.

The people with other colors have had great luck with duplicolor and, seeing the threads where they painted stuff, it actually does look really good. For the superwhite, it comes out a little more yellowed. It's not bad and people have done it and lived with the variation, it just depends on how sensitive you are.

Did you clear coat? I have ordered some eye lids and have already bought a can of Dupli Color. Just wondering if I need to go ahead an get a can of clear coat.

    Yes.
Dupli-color worked well for me, I have used it for Indigo Ink (8P4) and Classic Silver (1F7) though.

However, I know there was discussion on here a while ago that Super White did not match like other colors of Dupli-color. I believe it has more of an eggshell look to it.
