What about using some kind of adhesive glue to rebadge?
like what toyota uses to put the badges on at the factory.

On the second gens it's more of a sticky foam used to adhere them to the paint. Similar to the double sided tape. My only concern with some sort of glue would be taking the paint off with it if you wanted to remove them to repaint them.

I've tried 3m plastic and trim adhesive(pictured below) from autozone on a toy car and it pulled the paint off without a problem, granted that's cheap chinese toy but I wouldn't want to experiment with it on my truck.
