How Do I Remove Newsprint Stain From Plastic?

I was using newspaper to clean my windows. Some of the moist newspaper rubbed against my center console, and left a black stain.

Any tips on how I can get the black stain off the gray plastic?

I got it off using rubbing alcohol (make that RUBBING! alcohol). I used the soft side of a ScotchBrite pad for the tough spots. Of course, the side effect of alcohol is that is dries out the plastic, so I promptly followed up with a wipe down with a paper towel damp with water. A few minutes later, with the plastic dry, I followed up with McGuiars detail wipes.

Another possible remedy is a baking soda and water paste. The advantage to trying this method is you can use an old tooth brush (or a denture brush, which has a larger head) to scrub the stained area(s).
