body help

so anybody a body man? i have a small spot behind a rear tire where it looks like the clearcoat is coming off... is there a body man trick to stop or slow this process? or do i have to have it all sanded down and completely redone?

 

Not an expert but could it be the protectant film that is applied at factory is coming off, sure would be cheaper to replace the film than paint.

 

A pic would really help... If it is peeling clear, there's only one way to fix it, and that is to sand the panel down, and re-paint/clear. Try and get a pic up, so I can get a better look at it.

 

yeah im sure its the clear coming up. its hard to get a pic of it becaus eof the white paint. is there clear coat touch up? id be down to try that?

 

You can buy clear coat in a touch-up stick, or even a rattle-can. It's not the best in a rattle-can, and to be honest, either method will look shoddy... But at least it will stop peeling. Just wet-sand the edge of the peeling clear, use some 1500 grit, and take it easy, so you don't burn through the white base coat, otherwise you'll have to replace that as well.
