A lot of folks have clay barred their trucks. What's the question?

If you have a local auto paint supply near you go to the shop and buy the 3m wax, high quality stuff you can go with hot shot or glaze but the 3m wax that they have there is very creamy it leaves you a great shine and protection to your paint, its awesome really..i would use that on my tacoma now, but i need to re-paint my truck i got keyed from the driverside door to my tail light..cant wet sand or polish off fresh paint lol..but yeah man go with the 3m wax you cant go wrong for the price

This thread is in the "detailing section" - there are several threads on clay barring.

You use the clay with plenty of lube to clean the gunk off the paint. If the clay hits the ground THROW it out. If when using the clay, it starts to drag, use more lube. You can buy kits at wally world, autozone, etc. It's a very time consuming job - you don't want to rush it.

The clay "wipes" contaminants off the paint, leaving a smooth finish. You then need to polish/wax when done.

I use the Zaino product line. Amazing stuff, I have the clay bar but havent done it yet. I must say after using the Z-2 and the Z-6 enhancing spray it really looks amazing.

I use Mequiars ultimate wax on my cars and my customers cars. My last customer asked what wax I used and loves the shine it left better than any other time she had it waxed. It has polymers and a sealer in it. It's not a "sealer" but it has it in there.
