Removal of rear bumper plactic

2011 tacoma prerunner - I am going to get rid of my chrome bumper and get it color matched. I need to know how to take the fasterners out (under the little plastic square covers) that hold the plastic bumper cover that is right under the lic. plate.

I tried prying them with a small screw driver and pulling them out with a pliers - no luck.

I am in the same situation...can seem to find a way to get them off.

See page 2. There are three claws in each cap. You just push in and pry up. The caps have to be tight to prevent water from getting in and pooling around the bolt, which would cause rusting.

 

I got them out...kinda broke one.



That is what they look like, i used some fishing line, made a loop, and pulled while using the screwdriver. This pic should help
