    If you run your fingernail across the scratch and your fingernail catches on the scratch, then it's there permanently.

    Wax (by itself) doesn't remove scratches. It does, however, fill light ones.

    You need polish to remove scratches. Follow up with wax to protect the paint.

    Some cleaner waxes have a small amount of polish in them and therefore may remove some light scratches, but a dedicated polish is the way to go for serious scratch removal.
