Dings in Plastic from Seat Belt

I have a 2012 AC and have noticed some dings in the rear door plastic from what appears to be the seat belt latch hitting the door when I release the belt.

Looking for suggestions on how to protect that area.

Don't let your seat belt go but guide it to the door.

I'm not sure if the 12 have this buy my 13 has a 'rubber oval mat' that is located exactly where the seat belt returns to...this seems to help out with the plastic dings. Maybe you can get some of these for your 12

Very interesting.

I was going to suggest something similar to what they use on the door handle pockets to prevent your nails from scratching the paint. Just a clear "bra" type material.

Mine is a 2013 and I don't have it on mine. Of course, mine is a base model 4x4 regular cab so it probably wouldn't have it anyway.

Deal with the really small dings (it's a truck) or just don't let the seatbelt go flying?

Matt

x4, or simply don't use it would be another option

Put a piece of chafe tape along the door where it's being damaged.

We use it on aircraft but it'll work for door dings too.

Just google chafe tape protection. There'll be a bunch of online vendors
