I don't really care for the chrome look of my grill, I was thinking of buying a whole new grill shell in either black or red to match my car. Then I thought about saving a few bucks and painting it myself so I started looking into paints. Came across this chrome black out paint that looks pretty cool.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357858779.002205.jpg

Reviews are hit and miss. Sounds like people have trouble with it on real chrome but it work well on plastic chrome. For $25 shipped its worth a try for me... I'll post some before and after pictures.

I'm curious to see this. A lot of people just plasti-dip it too.

That sounds like a good option as well, that would make it black though. I hope I get the black chrome I'm looking for...

I saw someone else with this and theirs turned out crappy. It's tough to get it to stick on something that is not etched. If you etch the plastic chrome then you see the light scratches under the new finish.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna like the finish of the grill I ordered.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360631976.046028.jpg
I really like the look of the grill but it may be too shiny. So I plan to give it a few coats of plasti dip, I also have the glossifier to add a little sheen.

I'll post some before and after pictures.
