Plasti-Dip Entire chrome bumper - possible?

I am looking for the most effective way to plasti dip my entire chrome bumper and grill.

Any suggestions as far as techniques or most effective strategies in completing this task? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just clean it real good then wipe it down with alcohol. Remove the license plate and tag lights. Tape everything you don't want sprayed and use some news paper or something for the tailgate/bedsides/tail lights and start spraying. I was really pleased how mine turned out and has held up nicely. Don't get carried away when you spray so it doesn't run. It'll be spotty and you'll still see chrome after a few coats but once you get enough coats on there it'll turn out fine. I would say i did around 7-8 maybe.

Probably not 7.. maybe like 3 at the most? ive never used it, but seems like most people buy a can that they use for various things and it lasts..
This is very tempting to do. Post pictures on here if/when you do it!
I think you can put a primer that will help with staying on if you want.

I did this over a year ago and I love it. I taped everything off and just did light coat after light coat. I wanted to do this to get rid of the chrome and to protect the bumper from nicks and scratches ...perfect. Used 2 cans at most for about 5 coats and it covers well.

 

Yeah 7-8 coats. It doesn't like to spray well if the can isn't upright so it gets tricky spraying the bottom edges. You don't need to use primer with it. That would take away the whole point of it being removable if you ever want to.

Well people have derped their entire trucks, I don't think a bumper is out of the qestion

 

all i did was wash mine good and take the license plate and the plastic under it off. I used one whole can.

also take the tail gate off and lay it in the grass, less taping and covering for over spray. hel i just held some card board up when i was at the ends/corners.

 

Someone should do this on a tan/silver taco..

Found several colors at Ace hardware.

 

I just taped off behind the bumper, removed all the plastics, the license plate and the lights. Cleaned it all really good and sprayed it on.

 

I've used Plasti-Dip on my emblems, it works great. However when I painted my rear bumper I went with Rustoleum Painter's Touch primer/glossy black/clear coat spray paint, because I wanted to make sure it would last a long time and wouldn't peel off
