Is the bologna on paint issue baloney?

Settle a bet....A friend of mine heard that if you place a slice of bologna on a car's finish, it will damage the paint. I claim this is urban legend nonsense. (left on the surface a few hours or overnight) Any of you ever heard this? Anyone have an old hood or door lying around to verify?!!

 

It'll leave greasy spots but they'll wash off. So you can really freak you buddy out w/ a pack of Oscar Meyer on his ride.

 

Perhaps it worked years ago on older paint..

 

Never heard that one....now an egg is a different story.

 

I think in the right conditions, anything can stain/damage the paint. My wife dumped milk out her window while out on the road in the middle of a Texas summer. Little to my knowledge it splattered on the truck and dripped down, sat there for about a week in intense heat, no I have a nice streak stain down my door. It is very light and can't be seen from far, and tough to see after waxing, but it is still there.
