I have just been lazy but I typically wax it. How long can you go before it gets real bad in your opinion?

Meh don't leave it on too long. Unless you plan on putting giant cucumber slices on your headlights.

Staining should come off a truck with a good cleaner wax so long as you still have decent clear coat. If you have a clear bra though get it washed off right away. It stains clear bra permanently. Trust me, i know.
