Bought the Porter Cable DA..questions..

For those of you guys who have a DA polisher..if I buy the backing plate should I get the 5 or 6 inch?

Do I buy the pads a little bigger than the plate, if so how much..

 

Honestly I don't think it matters if you go with the 5 or 6 inch plate. I would just go with the 6 inch and then get pads that are a bit bigger than the plate.

Make sure you have pads that match the polish though. You don't want to have a rough pad when your doing your swirl removal for example.

There is a big difference between the Meguiars "consumer" and "professional" products. Buy the pro stuff, it works.

Google Adam's Polishes or Autogeek. I prefer Adam's because the system is color coded. Pad and polishes are matched up.

 

Go to the autogeek forum...everything you could ever want to know about washing, waxing, polishing and buffing can be found there...they are all cool guys on that forum, very knowledgeable....
