Blacking out decals.

Does anyone have any advice they can give me on blacking out my silver decals on my truck? I am new to all this and not sure how i would go about it. Any input is appreciated.

plasti dip, best way to go just search for a walk through

 

Flat black plasti dip. Tape off a square around the badge and give it around 4 coats. It will peel off the truck around the decal, and boom, black decals

I dipped mine this afternoon. Out about 5 coats on. Get a toothpick and tweezers to get the inside of As and Os.

 

Looks freaking sweet and was easy. I did all the decals and front emblem with one can.

 

Just noticed I missed the hole in the R in SR5. Will get that tomorrow.

 

Looks like it left a haze around the lettering

 

Black plast-dip. Use blue painters tape to square off the edges. I applied 6 coats. Make sure you hit all angles (front, side to side, up and down).

Immediately after you spray the last coat, peel off the tape. Here's the trick....use a toothpick to score around and inside the edges of the lettering. Then you won't leave paint inside the letters.
