While I agree, not every product at Autogeek works. Where as every product I have used from Adam's works as intended. Believe me I have used about $800 worth of product from them.

It is not the waxes that kill you it is the polishes.

 

No buffer. I had already purchased the porter cable before I found Adams. Keep in mind this what I have purchased over last 2 years. I started off with basic polishes and pads. Then started adding in their tire and trim product. I was blown away by each product I tried, so I kept trying more. I kept thinking I new how to detail a car but the more I learned , the more I realized I had a long way to go for perfection.

 

Waxes are just a temporary scratch filler. It'll make your paint look good for a few washes, until it wears out. A good power cut and polish will restore it to perfection but be careful who you get it done by, as it's really easy to make black paint look worse.

As for upkeep, the best things i've found are to use two separate buckets for washing. One to rinse the dirty brush in to get dirt and debris off, and one to refill your brush or mitt with soap. And soap is your friend! The more, the better. It lubricates the brush so you don't end up with those spiderweb looking scratches and swirls.

 

i recommend farecla products, you can get them at most body supply shops, napa carries there stuff, and if that fails go to pep boys and get the barret jackson products (its re-labeled farecla g3 pro series)....the reason i recommend farecla especially for black vehicles is that the products are water based (no staining on trim) and if any splatter dries on the surface it can be hosed of with water...they also contain no fillers (the glazes they sell obviously do), so when you polish you see the actual results of your work not a filler hiding imperfections.
