So I pulled off my TRD stickers (in the sun) but they left a heavy deposit of adhesive on the body. I used denatured alcohol to remove it but that left swirl scratches maybe from the rag I used. Also now there is a difference between the faded paint around the stickers vs what was under the them. What product should I use to restore the paint in this case? Is a wax good enough and/or is a polishing compound too much?

I recently pulled stickers (company logo - we got a new logo and had to swith it out) from my work vehicle. I used Goo Gone to get the residue off. I guess your alcohol did the same job, but after that I used a clay bar to clean the whole are. That made a huge difference and got rid of the slight fading that I had. I did not have to use polishing compound, but if you have swirl marks you might have to. I would not like to use that on my vehicle unless it is a last resort. Try the clay bar and then a good polish (not polishing compound), then wax. If it does not work and you still see the swirls, you can always strip the wax with dish soap and try the compound, and then polish and wax again.

A little too late for step one but maybe the rest can help?

    How I removed the stickers:

    3M decal eraser wheel.
Little Goo Gone to get some adhesive off
    Wash
    Clay bar
    Polish
    Wax

    Worked perfectly.
