This is an 05 Super White Taco. Paint is nearly matte with little shine left. I washed it, drove it down the road to dry and then came back and applied Meguires liquid wax. I let it sit about 20min before hand buffing it off. It was a cool, cloudy day. The attached pic show what it looked like AFTER I buffed it. Basically, it looks like shit.

I've never had this happen before, but I've also never put a coat of wax on paint this aged. Any tips?

    stock, for now
You didn't get the wax off. What's so hard about that? You need to do a body panel at a time. Dried wax is a pain to remove.

Your wax wasnt dry, it was still liquid in certain spots. On a good cloudy day, you should leave your wax on for about an hour before its dry enough to buff off. If not its a Mother F***ker to get off!!!

When done properly, it will give the deepest shine you have ever seen.

Meguires is kind of an old school wax.

Trust me, thats buffed. Smooth and additional buffing doesn't improve it.

Admittedly, I wanted to wait longer, but it looked like rain was a come'n.

I guess I need to strip all this shit off and start over then? Whats funny is the driver side has a newer paint job due to an accident. It turned out perfect. The rest of the truck looks like I applied wax to my ass cheeks and slid all over it.

What brand does a sporting individual looking to wax his truck buy these days?

Not sure what's going on but washing with some dish liquid will strip it all off again. ;)

Have you ever used a Clay bar on the truck? Might try claying it first, then use Meguiar's polish and then Meguiar's wax. Reason I say clay it first, is because you might have some contaminants in the clear coat that could be affecting the wax.

I agree with ^^^ might have some small imperfections on the clear coat that will affect the finished look.

Also, i hear alot of people say that the turtle wax Ice is pretty good. I have never used it, but ive heard its easy on and easy off.

No clear coat on the super white .
Sounds like very faided paint that will need to be cut down in order to shine again .
Look into a professional cut polish

Never used a clay bar. Gonna strip the crap off tonight and just do the hood again to see how it goes.

Ok, so the bottle of wax I bought was made by space men. Washed my truck with Dawn dish detergent a total of 3 times today and the shit still beads and looks like ass. Anyone have suggestions on what else I can use to strip this wax off? I was thinking about a microfiber sponge and 90% clear rubbing alcohol. Will that damage the paint?

Clay bar removes everything. Including your paint if you aren't paying attention and get over zealous.
