Don't use Windex if you have aftermarket tint. Also, stay out of the sun when cleaning. Both the heat from the sun and a hot window will lead to streaks and haze. One other thing...if you're using a micro-fiber or cotton towel, make sure it's completely clean. I recommend running them through the washer on the hot cycle with just a little bit of detergent. If your washer has the "extra rinse" cycle use that too.

Another thing to note, is if yer a smoker, over time there will be a film on the inside that is hard to remove. Since the inside is often neglected becuase it rarely gets dirty, it builds up over time and you won't really notice it either. It just streaks when you try to clean it. So a good cleaning will need to be done first. Maybe use some soapy water. Haven't figured out a good cleaner for that yet... Then keep it clean at regular intervals. I also clean mine at night. I place my led flashlight on the hood pointed towards the windshield and it allows you to see every single detail way more than in the daytime.
And yes, I'm a smoker. And yeah I know, another reason to quit. Blah blah.. lol.

but don't use ammonia on window tint. It'll turn it purple.

One thing I do. I clean the edges of the windshield and around the mirror real good before I do the rest. The window residue that builds up will streak if you wipe into it while cleaning. Just my 2 ¢

This is what the tint guy gave me, it works better than anything else I've used.

Invisible glass and Scott brand papertowels for glass. Works like a charm.

My 2 cents for a clean, streak free windshield.

4 paper towels folded together, get them good and wet and wash the window.
Repeat, making sure to get every corner.
4 more paper towels, folded flat, completely dry the widow.
With a micro fiber cloth folded nicely flat in hand, lightly spray windshield with Invisible Glass. Using only horizontal, overlapping wipes, start at the top and work your way to the dash. Light pressure is all that is needed. The glass should be dry when done. Repeat one more time.

Most streaks are from uneven pressure or a poorly folded towel. The streaks are parts you missed.
