Window cleaning

Hey guys need some idles for cleaning the windows. I have tried almost everything and I'm still getting streaks. What cleaner and are you using paper towels or ? Any and all ideas welcome .

Awesome info . thanks guys for all input. I have tried the invisible glass and still getting the streaks. Must be something I'm doing wrong. I will try it again and will also try changing the paper towel a couple of times. Thanks again for all your reply's.

 

Micro fiber after paper towel . No more streaks

 

Invisible glass, paper towels/newspaper, then microfiber 'buffing'.

Also, I try to go horizontal strokes on the outside and vertical on the inside (or vice versa). That way if you see streaks it is easy to know if it is on the inside or outside surface. Works great on home windows or sliding doors also.

 

What is this "newspaper" you speak of?

 

I use a 6 inch EPDM Rubber Squeegee with either Invisible glass or windex on all windows but the ones tinted then buff with a microfiber towel no streaks!!!

 

I learned this trick from a window tint guy. Simple window cleaner like Windex or even rubbing alcohol. Spray on liberally. Rub window with a dish scouring pad to remove any dirt. Then wipe away access with a small squeegee. Window come out streak free and clean every time.

About twice a year I use a glass polishing pad on the windshield to get rid of the bug film, usually it needs it when the wipers don't work well anymore. Otherwise, and on the rest of the windows, I just use a squirt of Dawn in a bucket of water, followed by a rinse. We have a lot of calcium in the water here so you have to get the rinse water off fast. If not, then it spots and you have to use vinegar in water to clean the spots off.

Thanks again for all the reply's. They are all good ideas , some I have already tried and some I have not . I will have to try them and see what works the best for me .

 

What ever cleaner I use seems to leave steaks. What I find works to get rid of those streaks is after you clean with cleaner, grab a clean dry towel/cloth and use some elbow grease and the streaks will erase.

 

Use ammonia and water. Mix as directions on bottle for cleaning. Wash window down with a sponge and ammonia and water, dry with crinkled up single sheet in a ball of news paper. Make sure ya have plenty of news paper It's the best.

Get SprayWay. You can get it at Walmart or Target and probably online. Works great and doesn't take much to clean the window.
