My brand new truck got industrial strength paint overspray on it. My employer is building a parking garage adjacent to the lot I was parked in. Seems in the process of painting the ceilings in the garage, they failed to follow protocol and put sheets of plastic up to keep the paint from blowing. Now the painting subcontractor is dealing with about 40 claims of damage from overspray.

I had a body shop estimate it, and it came in at 8 hours of labor @ $48/hr to remove it. Turns out, he's not able to get it off the plastic and rubber trim pieces. None of the chemicals they normally use to remove overspray touched it, so he's having to polish it out.

I need to go back to the insurance company and ask them to re-adjust it for the plastic and rubber trim.

I've only had the truck for 3 months. It's a 2014 TRD Sport Access Cab with 1500 miles.

Anybody have methods that they've tried that have worked? I'm leary of painting the plastic and staining the rubber because of longevity and product reviews I've read.
