I just picked up a porter cable 7424xp and all of the polishing/waxing products I want to use. My question is:
For those of you who have a PC, what speed works best? I've never used a oribital buffer before. I've only ever hand waxed. Can you give me some tips on using the PC?
My plan is to wash, clay bar, polish, sealant then wax using all of the Meguiars products. Thanks in advance.

It's somewhat product and pad dependent. If you're going to use it for glazes, waxes and sealants, you really won't need to go over speed 1 or 2. Maybe 3. I dont remember the last time I applied a final step product w/ the PC.
For polishes, I've never used anything below 5. So go 5 or 6, depending on what you're using.

What size pads did you go with? I used to the 6 inch with swirl removers and polishers. And it would constantly stop spinning the proper way. And the swirls would still be there. Once I stepped down to 5 inch pads wow what a difference.

3", 4", and 5.5" low profile pads are absolutely vital for efficient operation. Speed 6 for 5.5", speed 4 or 5 for the smaller pads. Don't forget to apply ample downward pressure.
