buying a porter cable 7424

I have decided to buy a porter cable 7424 polisher to polish my truck and other cars with. Does anyone have a recomendation on where to buy it online? Also, any pro's out there have a recomendation on what polishing products to buy? I have some light brush scratchs that I want to remove, then apply a good sealant or wax? I have used meguires in the past.

Thanks,

I got mine at Coastal Tools in a kit (larger 6" counterweight & hook loop pad) but when I went to post the link, the website said the 7424 is discontinued & updated with a new PC model 7424XP.

Also when I was fixing scratches, I would clay first, use a polish, then wax. I was given a Griots kit but their products are pricey....

You can check out these different forums for different techniques and products:

www.autogeekonline.net
www.meguiarsonline.com
www.autotopia.com

A lot of people like the Meguiars 105 and 205 combo. I have been reading a ton on all of these sites and have asked for either the Megiars G110 or the PC 7424 for my birthday.

Autogeek.net has some pretty good kits here

So does properautocare.com - here

Also keep the G110 in mind - here

Also ask mShu7 if you have any specific detailing questions. He is full of good advise.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware of the XP model. I will look into getting an XP.

You'll love your PC 7424-best vehicle investment I've ever made! I'm a Meguiar's guy and have always used #83 & #80 for cleaning & polishing. Usually top with NXT. I've read a lot of good stuff on the M105 and plan to pick up a bottle of that ASAP.
