I just recently blacked out my side badges on my '01. Not hard to do because letters are connected. But when I got to the tailgate, a different story. Letters are single and had a rough time w/ them. ( 8 yrs of sun made them a bit hard to come off.)

I had called my dealer a month ago to price out new badges, just in case. I had asked if they had them in black? answer NO. But silver was TOYOTA = $21.00 and
TACOMA = $16.00. Didn't price PreRunner ( not putting back on )
I thought for that price I would get them and took of badges w/ heat gun and a plastic body tool. ( very fast ) This time when I ordered a set for the tailgate the parts guy asked if I wanted Black Metal or Silver ? What's the price of Black?
TOYOTA= $75.45 TACOMA = $45.05. I went w/ silver and will match side badges with scuff, adhesion promoter, and Krylon Rust Tough semi-flat Enamel.
I also got tiered of Back to Black on fender flares, so did them with the above process. Future project will be the front bumper. ( above the chrome strip is a faded
red, & Back to Black is not lasting long.
I am curious to see if any one has seen these Black Metal finish badges.
Pics. to come soon.
