I'd like to remove the badges from the front doors but my concern is that I've had the truck 5 1/2 years and it is never garaged and since I live in sunny AZ should I be concerned about paint fading and/or lines? It's white so hopefully that will minimize the concern. What do you think?

Taking off the badges should be fine. You'll probably find that the paint under the badges is perfect, but the paint on the rest of your vehicle has dulled a bit, or oxidised from sun and/or water and/or 5 1/2 years of wear and tear. I'd suggest having the exterior of your truck machine polished. Check out autopia.org. It's a detailing website with tons of DIY info. The folks over there range from people who detail their own cars for fun/hobby, to professional, career detailers. If polishing your own truck is not something you want to do, you'll be able to find a detailer from AZ over on autopia. Check the "click and brag" section of the forums for examples of their work.

    Thanks, I'll check it out.

Agreed. That was the case with my truck, and polishing evened it out to where it was barely noticeable. The truck has been polished once or twice since then, and you cannot tell it ever had badges on it...
