Engine spray

My engine is spotless but not shiny/glossy/new looking...what should I use to get the new car shiny look under the engine? Thanks.

 

Simple green and a hose. Hose it down, simple green the F out of it. Avoid wiring if possible, let it dry up a bit with the simple green on it, hose down to rinse.. enjoy, close thread

Carb Cleaner or WD40

 

Yeah the hoses to look shiny and it's already clean. Just want it to look shiny.

 

Armor All...just spray that stuff every where and wipe it off

 

So just keep it away from metal so it doesn't burn when the engine gets hot? I don't want it smoking...

 

... One time I was cleaning my engine with a hose (not on my Taco. An older car with exposed plug wires) and knocked a few of my sparkplug wires loose. It was hilarious when I was trying to climb a hill on one cylinder at 12 mph floored. Engine looked SCCHWEEEET though.

 

To give a nice gloss to the engine, you can use a product like CD2, Trim Restorer from Poorboys, Black Wow, or even 303 Aerospace Protectant. CD2 is an aerosol. The rest you would apply w/ an applicator pad.

 

Cd2 is GREAT product.
I use it under hood and under fender wells. It stays glossy, repels dust, helps with next clean.
I get it at Autozone

 

Another +1 for CD2. If used correctly it works great and you can get it OTC at alot of automotive stores.

 

+1 for the CD-2. I clean and rinse engine bay, blow dry with leaf blower, then spray CD-2 over the whole engine bay.
Start and run truck for ~ 10 minutes, then wipe off excess. Looks great and is durable.

 

WD40 would be the worst idea ever, i use it on my throttle on my bike and within like a hour where ever i over sprayed it is solid brown from the dust
