low gloss wax?

Got some matte black powdercoated sliders put on recently and they look great except for after the rain when they get spotted like nothing I've ever seen.

Wondering if anyone out there knows of something I can put on there that'll sheet water off the surface without adding a lot of gloss to a part that I specifically wanted a matte finish on in the first place.

 

Try Turtle Wax Ice Polish. I use it almost on everything (trim, mudfalps, tires, rims) except glass. It's a bit expensive to buy just for sliders but if you use it to also polish your truck it's well worth the price

 

try a sealant that doesnt have any carnuba in it

 

might try some rain-x wondow stuff. i accidentaly got some on my hood, and for the last month that spot always beads off and drys first

 

thanks for the ideas. I've been using TW Ice on the truck for a few months now so I've got it on hand. It gave some shine to the bedrails when I put it on them last time so I'm thinking it might put some shine on the sliders as well (couldn't hurt to try though).

hadn't considered rainx which I've also already been using, since it does something to the glass surface I'm not sure what it might do to the powdercoat.

 

Try HD's detailer they sell for the Motorcycles with the satin finish.

 

There is a Matte-finish clear that could be applied by a bodyshop. Unlike conventional clear (which is very shiny) Matte-clear provides the protection of clear, but doesn't create such a shiny appearance.

A lot of 2-tone vehicles use Matte-clear on their bumpers.
