best way to clean/protect plastic fenders?

I was wondering what the best way to clean and protect the black fenders (and to a lesser extent the running boards) on a TRD would be...

Mine are somewhat oxidized (i think that is the proper term) and have a light white/grayish haze to them...they are not real black and nice anymore...

On top of that, some knucklehead took a key or something and wrote on them which now shows up because it has scratched through the weathered layer......

Any suggestions? I searched the threads and didn't find anything....

hey matty, try some mothers back to black...really good stuff, and may fix you right up.

yeah hes right back to black will definitely restore any fading or worn out spots.

Krylon works good at restoring the color, too.

+3 I use it too. You may want to buy 2 bottles because the 1st one may get quickly spent 'catching up' the weatheredness

I tried steel wool and that didn't work ?
