I took my 1month old Tacoma to get the front windows tinted on Saturday. Sunday Morning I gave it a wash to find that they sliced into both front windows!! 2 slices (deeper than just a scratch) on driver front, and 1 one on the passenger.

They were closed today, but I'll be on the phone with them tomorrow. I'm sure this is going to turn out to be a disaster. I figure I'll go ahead and get the dealer to fax me an estimate on replacing both windows -- just to be armed for battle.

Anywho.. I just had to vent.

Call NOW and hopefully if you get a machine-leave a message expressing your discovery-it's still soon enough where the message you leave will give them a clear read on your SUPRIZE and subsequent ANGER. Then when you go in person it's already in motion.

I tried calling as soon as I saw it, and today -- they don't have an answering machine. :(

I'll call 1st thing in the morning, and let them know I"ll be by later in the afternoon when I get off work.

Yup it figures about the machine-sorry to hear. Just remember, Rosie (my Wife's name too) your integrity lies within the fact that YOU are right here-and when you're right you're right. Stick to your guns. Agreed it's a TOTAL drag to have to muster up and fight another one but such is life-- let us hear what happened.

I wouldn't call....I'd be standing by the front door of the shop waiting for 'whoever' opens for the day. Assuming it will be the owner. Maybe even have a tape recorder in your hand. (let him see it) Being in person will let him know how serious you are.

Make it very clear from the beginning that you are not effin' around!

Hey Guys, thanks for the concern.

I called 1st thing this morning, and gave then the information. I was able to get there around 3:30. Now here's where I thought things were getting ready to go bad. The shop Showtime Auto Accessories in Asheville, had an 'outside contractor' that does their tinting. The owner comes out, and one of the guys from the shop - and didn't deny that it happened from cutting the tint on the glass. The guy from the shop even openly said that's why were not supposed to cut on the glass. The owner of showtime get's the owner of the contractor - Hi-Tech coatings - on the phone.

We all agreed that the passenger side is very minimal and may be able to polish out, however the driver side will need a new window. I'm waiting for a call tomorrow - they are going to have some glass company come out to deal with the passenger side. I already insisted that the window replacement be done by toyota, with toyota parts.

We'll see how it ends... You think the copy of the dealer estimate that I already had, along with my attorney's card paperclipped to it (that I accidently left out in plain sight) might have made them realize that I'm not going away? :)

    Anywho...

Ridgerunner.... I'm no woman :) It's just a nick name that has carried though from my father due to our last name.

Yeah i think I would definately want an OEM replacement window....otherwise when you trade down the road or have it appraised for trade it is very possible that could come up. Good luck!
