Polishing and buffing??? whats best??

Hi I have never polished or buffed any of my vehicles except for the other day when We did part of my bed side to get rid of a scratch at a buddys house.

Well I'm addicted and want to buff out the whole truck to remove a number of small scratched.

What do I need? I'm new, whats the best Polishing compound? what kind of wheels and pads should I purchase? how are the Drill attachments? I would really like to save some coin and go that way since I am pretty much broke theses days.

I use turtle wax, not as pricey as mothers and just as good. Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound, to be specific, works like a charm, but be gentle, rub too long or too hard and it will cut right through your clear coat.
