Window Tint....

How do you put window tint on yourslef!!>???

 

Buy the tint, throw that shit on.

 

If you can find it there is a company that will sell the tint already cut for your vehicle. Then from there you just install it. If you had to buy the roll it would be cheaper to go somewhere and get it done.

 

Yea. I threw the shit on and messed it UP! haha Yea. I found a place in NY that cuts it for ya... Hope i can do that...

 

In NY? A guy around here did my sisters car for $60-$100 and she has 5 windows. :O

 

after watching it done, I would do it myself.

baby shampoo + water. clean window. cut out window tint. place. pull top off. squeegee out. etc. I probably missed a step in there but that is the gist of it.

It's not as easy as it looks. Making clean cuts is the hardest part. If you get the precut stuff it would be a whole lot easier. Even then, it's not as easy as it looks. I've done it on several vehicles and after trying and messing up and trying again it ends up costing you as much as having them professionally done. My brother owns a tint shop out in Georgia and says Tacoma windows are some of the easiest so you might have better luck.

 

.if you never tinted windows before I suggest you get it done by a professional...may I suggest get sun gard window tint I tinted alot of windows I notice that these tint last long,dont fade

I use joy dishsoap , if you DIY youll need more practice and patience if yo mess up on one window youll have to buy another box tint a box of tint is about 6'enough fr 2door windows or just the rear window goodluck

 

Whatever you do....do not use windex PERIOD or anything with ammonia in it for that matter. It will purple your tint faster than a black eye.

 

The company I work with has a pro tinter. He's a damn artist and can tint anything. After watching him work I wouldn't be happy DIY. We use the thickest, best quality film and offer a lifetime warranty. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Good luck.

I haven't yet but plan to get my rear window done. What would I use to clean the inside of the window with after..as in say 3 months later?

I've only owned one vehicle with tint on the rear window and it came factory that way

 

any window cleaner WITHOUT ammonia

I have discovered over the years have it done it's not worth the headaches.......

 

Here's how I tint mine:

1) Drive to the tint guy in my town that's tinted over ten vehicles for me.

2) Shoot the breeze with him while he tints the truck.

3) Pay him $160 and a tip.

Really, just have someone do it. For me, the guy I goto is great. Product has a lifetime warranty, and he's been in business for 25 years. It's not worth me trying to save $5 by DIY.
