I just got home and looked at my wife's stock tacoma. I'd go -10 offset personally. Check out the pinch weld mod if you don't have it done. The tire will swing a bit more and contact the mud flap, the plastic and possible the pinch weld behind the front wheel.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. sounds like I'm definitely going to need to do the pinch weld mod. They don't make a -12 offset in the 16 inch that you know of do they?

They only make the MK6 in -10. It's only 2mm difference. That's a 1/16 of an inch. You won't know the difference. There's more variation in our trucks than that.

Removing the 8 from center caps

I have manual hubs so I figured I could experiment on removing the 8 off my center caps because I'm going to cut a 3.5 inch hole in the front caps to access the hubs. I pulled out my wife's nail polish remover and some paper towels. It is the non acetone type. With a little rubbing with a soaked corner of the towel the 8 came right off. You could see the outline but the light grey 8 was gone. I bet a little polishing could buff it out. A little too much rubbing and the gun metal grey paint wiped away. I think a q-tip and remover would be a good way to go without over treating the cap and loosing the paint. Just keep a dry towel close by to wipe the cap clean as soon as the area you are working is void of the 8 paint. Just like that the 8 we all are not fond of is gone.

Then I used a 3" TEQ sticker from eBay.

That truck is hot sex. I freaking love the Gold on these trucks. Makes me miss my '02 XCab.

So I'm having my MK6s put on right now at the dealer while it was in for warranty work.

Just got a call saying that the factory TPMS won't fit. What am I missing folks???

Matter of fact the wheels that came on my base model were steel. Is that different?

I had them in Level 8 Guardians before trying to put them in my MK6s.

The steel has a 40 degree mounting angle versus the 20 degree on the aluminum. There are kits to use the 40 degree Sensors in aluminum wheels.

Who put them in the Guardians? Either they weren't correctly put in or the tech didn't take the kit off the guardians.

Private shop that I trust a LOT more than the dealership. But there's a chance the private shop "adjusted" them to fit properly

Thanks for all the info. Might help with the thread a bit too.

And for what it's worth, I'll just put them back in a pressurized wheelbarrow tire probably anyway.
