Hey guys, i just bought a 99 tacoma with 3 in lift and 33 micky tompsons. I ordered an elite off road front bumper (steel) but im worried about the weight. Im wondering what other people have done for the weight compensation. Any info would be great :):)

yeah, coilovers for sure, preferably over a high-pressure monotube style shock, like a Bilstein.

Those should be perfect you could always crank some more preload on them if it sags

Ive only have about an inch and a half left in adjustment. I cant even find a brand name on these shocks so im wondering if anyone knows what they are. Id like to get an upgraded version of the adjustable style shock i have now.

The coil overs you have now are toytec adjustables, basically a bilstein 5100 with a threaded base instead of a 3 ring perch.

i'd just get OME or eibach coils, or get SAW (sway-a-way) coilovers

If you get new coilovers get heavier springs. I am running 700lb springs on my extended king c/o's with no swaybar. Ride is good on road but more importantly it is awesome off road. Or just get heavier springs for your toytechs.

whats the spring rate on the red coils? 550 or 600 #'s?

Its a decent setup and you should be fine with just a bumper. but if you add more weight then you should probably get stronger coils. Plus you have plenty of room for adjustment left.

@mainmo02 - im not sure what the spring rate is. Im also planning on a winch which is another 80lbs or so.

@HBtaco02 - what was the purpose of taking the sway bar off? and I think im gonna look into getting stiffer springs for the coilovers I have now but the toytec website dosnt have what im looking for

I thought you might have 600 rate springs, if so you could go to the 650s?

There may be writing on the coils stating the model# or spring poundage.
If not you can contact toytec and ask what coils come with the toytec coil overs.
