Ok, so there's a ton of hype about this game, and i'd like to buy it, but i dont know if its worth it based on my computer and internet. I have a macbook that is about a year old. it has teh 2.4 ghz processor, 4 gb of ram and i have no idea about the video card. i'll be moving into my new house soon and it only has 1.5 mb DSL. that is the highest speed available in my area, so i wont be able to upgrade anytime soon. i was contemplating getting it and playing the single player (i rarely play online and prefer single player mode) but i noticed one of hte requirements is the subscription to battle net. so based on my limitations, is this game worth me buying it or should i forget about it until i have a better internet connection

Unfortunately, the single player mode still needs to connect to Battle.Net (that sucks). Buy it at your local WalMart then try it to see if it works with the slower connection. If it doesn't work for you, return it - WalMart takes everything back unlike GameStop.

The single player isn't THAT great. SC2 is all about the multiplayer. I would do what mlittle said, buy it at wal mart then take it back.

I'm afraid to say what I have returned to wal mart. They have never given me any grief.

I've tried returning things multiple times, only making out half the time.... bought some stuff online at a half-off discount, brought it back to Wal-Mart and it didn't scan since they have their own UPC code for items.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Hell yes you should!

Personally, I liked the single player campaign enough to play through it again.

I still don't have the balls to try multiplayer, other than with AI. Which is odd considering I spent more time of the youth playing Starcraft than I did most other things.

DOW? i'm not a gamer so things need to be spelled out for me

ditto. my room mate returned a remote control tank after using it for a week (it was a drunken purchase). finally it broke. he returned it with leaves and sticks sticking out of it and they took it back

i liked single player in Command and Conquer. i know multiplayer is the big draw but i'm not sure how it will work over my crappy internet.

DOW = Dawn of War... great multiplayer, and great single player mode... plus you don't need an internet connection to play single player compaign or versus AI.

Don't get DOW2 (You need internet connection for this) though... its game play is different than DOW (which is similar to SC and C&C)

DOW has stronger units and more intense and larger battles... units are built in squads rather than individual units (thus larger battles but since units are stronger than SC2 then single squads can hold there own for a bit)

DOW has more units and playable race (albeit thru expansions) it was 2008 RTS game of the year. These units are high diverse and with a unique storyline. awesome upgrades, weapons, etc

DOW is base on the Warhammer 40,000 universe

btw, I brought a lot of stuff back to Walmart

    1. Tire ramps and jack, after using them to install exhaust on SRT4
    2. Digital camera after using it for a vacation
    3. PS3 games bought from a different non-walmart store that came in a bundled pack with the PS3
