Willie Nelson charged with pot possession in Texas

Not like this is news but just an excuse to express how much Willie is still the man!

SIERRA BLANCA, Texas – A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.
Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.
Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested.
Sheriff Arvin West didn't immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed the marijuana was his. The singer was held briefly a $2,500 bond before being released.
Nelson spokeswoman Elaine Schock declined to comment when contacted via e-mail by The Associated Press.

LOL...whats the point, the fine isn't a drop in the bucket for him. Hell if you have a "personal use amount" i don't even have to take you to jail...its just a ticket.

 

He paid 2500.00 to post bail - that's some cash up in smoke!

well, he was held on a 2500 dollar Bond...meaning if he doesn't show up for court he will owe that money to the court system. If the bond was Unsecured (which it probably was) then all he had to do was sign a paper (OC) stating that he was indebted to the state for 2500 dollars, then he walked out.

If it was Secured, which i HIGHLY doubt...then he would have to pay the 2500 dollars, however that money would be returned to him once his case is closed as long as he has made all his court appearances.

So the 2500 dollars would only be lost if he doesn't show for court...even so 2500 dollars is still a drop in the bucket for Mr. Nelson.
