the other night my ps3 decided to not turn on anymore, it wont eject the disc that is in it or start up. when you touch the on button it turns green for a second beeps and turns right off agian. it is an older 80g one that i have had for about 5 years i guess and my son uses it all the time, he is home all day so it may never get turned off.

so if anyone has any suggestions on a possible fix or troubleshooting for it, please let me know.

mine did that after a year and I sent it back to sony. Cost $150 to get it fixed. Flat rate and they fix whatever is wrong with it. Call them and they will send you a box with shipping label and everything.

I assume you have tried holding down this button for a reboot? Is it kept in a confined space? Have you called Sony Tech Support? I know there is way to reboot them but there is some sequence of button pushing...

its keep in a pretty open space so it has lots of air movement, but my son has no job except watching movies and gaming all day. so i figure it is on for very long periods of time. we tried all kinds of stuff he wanted to take the hard drive out, i told him go ahead then i will take your hard drive out thru your ass.:smack:

i googled some stuff about yellow light of death there are some fixes out there just haven't look into yet. i figured this weekend i could do it, nothing like football, beer and tearing stuff apart.:smash:

i will have him call sony so he can get the box sent since he uses that one all the time. i have a new slim model i use that will have a locked box on it after i get home today.
