I have DirecTV... unsure what I am going to do when my contract is up. $100 is quite a premium what we have.

Yea I have been a Dish customer for a few years and pay around $115 monthly for 4 tvs (2 HD & 2 SD) with 2 dvrs. They just added Blockbuster movie pass which includes streaming and 1 movie disc rental at a time. It's a nice perk but the streaming interface needs some improvements.
I was looking at switching to cable or direct but they all pretty much cost the same for the package I want.
I'm with some of the others and ready to just say f'it all. Put up an antenna and be satisfied with what ever I can pick up.

Comcast THEY SUCK! Worst cable company on the planet! I'd be willing to bet 3rd world cable companies have better service. I've lived in my place for 5 almost 6 years now and they still can't get it right. I never have two services at once. Cable yes phone and internet No etc. When are they goign to stop these companies from having monopolies?

I have a local cable provider, Bright House Networks.

Their TV service is good, but nothing special. The main reason I went with them is because $45 of my bill with them is included with my rent due to an agreement my community has with them.

The best thing about them is their Internet service - it's incredible. It's just about as fast as the Business-Class connection we have here at the office and it is VERY reliable.

I have been with Direct tv for about 15-17 years now. Great TV service, horrible customer service. As far as the comment about rain knocking it out, I've never really had a problem with it. It takes a pretty severe storm before it goes out and then it usually isn't out for more than 5 minutes. Now the HD is a different story as it goes out pretty easy in storms but I just switch to the SD duplicate when it happens. But IMO it is a minor inconvenience compared to cable. When I had cable, it would go out during storms but wouldn't come back until the cable co. came out to fix it which usually took a day or two at the least. So I'm happy with Direct aside from the price and having to fight with them when I want to upgrade. I always have the argument that I've been a loyal customer for so long and they want to charge me for new equipment that a new customer gets for free. I mean where does the loyalty come in?
